BE YOURSELF – BE REAL!

Spread the love

A WOMAN’S STORY

A woman at the age of 40 fell seriously sick. She was so weak and so sad. While on the sick bed at the hospital, all she could think about was nothing but “death”. This was not because she wanted to die, but, because she didn’t “prepare” for death as she had a party to attend the next day.

While thinking and somewhat meditating about what would happen or how it would feel like to die, she begun to talk to her God. “Dear loving God,” she said, “You know I can’t die now and that I am ‘too young’ to die. Please forgive me my sins and add a little life to mine now.”

For three days, she continued this practice till her God heard her. One day in a dream, God told her He has herd and forgiven her. For this reason, she will live an extra twenty (20) years.

Immediately, this lady woke up in joy and told the nurse what she saw. For this reason, and perhaps, the joy of her story, she decided to spend three days more in the hospital though she had recovered. She asked an attendant to buy her all the needed stuff to make her more beautiful and younger to celebrate her ‘new life’.
She got herself all the make-ups, pedicures, manicures, and dresses. Alongside, she was on diet to put up enough weight.

On the morning of the fourth day, she headed for the house. As she crossed the road to pick a taxi, she was run-over by a car. With so much anger and rage, she appeared before God and told Him He lied to her that she will spend twenty more years but died on her way home.

In response God said to her “sorry woman, I did not recognize you.”

For how long will you try putting on another man’s “costume”? Why don’t you be just you? The fact is you can never be better than that person. As you imitate someone:

  • You become “second-hand” or an alternative and no alternative can be like the “original.”
  • They always tell you what to do and when to do that.
  • Instead of a “true” satisfaction you always get a “pretended” satisfaction as you are not the real you.
  • You do not get to recognize your weaknesses to build upon them.
  • You waste you precious time, energy and resources.

My Advice:

Know who you are, love who you are and be grateful for who you are. As you do so, many people will also love you for who you are. Remember, there is only one you.
